Operations & Processes
The actual operation of an organization can also be understood as a complex of processes, including their constituting activities, guided by policies and goals.
A key question in all design of processes and operations is the balance between adequate quality of output and undesired cost. Momentus Management Consulting has extensive experience in rapid analysis of current processes and operations and the design of new processes where needed, including setting of key performance indicators for a continuous evaluation and further development.
For example, a re-design of operations may aim at elimination of activities that do not contribute to any customer value. Another example of operational development is the redesign from policy-guided processes to value-guided processes. The first example implies that execution of operations is to follow a pre-defined specification, which, however, is today challenged by a dynamic environment and changing customer needs.
Value-guided processes, on the other hand, are executed by employees who share a common set of values, and with employees that are empowered to formulate activities they find relevant in relation to the set objectives and the shared values.
