FMLOG, Logistics of Swedish Defense, provides maintenance and support to military units, stabs, and training centers within Swedish Defense. This is conducted by an organization staffed with appr. 4200 personnel, operating allover the Sweden, mainly in conjunction with the military units; (see: www.fmlog.mil.se).
In its assignment to support the Swedish Defense, in a purposeful and cost efficient manner, FMLOG experiences now a need to adapt its operations to the new mission process of the Swedish Defense; (see: www.mil.se).
A key challenge in this is to establish full synchronization between the support process of FMLOG and the mission process of the Swedish Defense, and thereby ensure that the requested materiel and services are delivered timely, in the right place, and cost efficiently.
An analysis of the current situation resulted in the identification of the need to re-design the command and control process of the logistics operations, in order to establish the desired operational synchronization between the two key processes.
FMLOG has assigned Momentus Management Consultants to support of this change. In line with the Momentus Management Framework, the developmental work is structured in the following key phases:
(i) further identification of problems and needs,
(ii) design of the desired command and control process,
(iii) formulation of the implementation plan,
(iv) execution of the implementation work,
(v) measurement, evaluation and adaptations.
Parallel to this concrete change management work, Momentus supports FMLOG with the planning of communication of this operational development to the personnel and other relevant stakeholders, and also with the support of the project management of this initiative.
FMLOG has previously worked with Momentus, which provided a positive experience of methodological and systematic work in dealing with complex change management, that generated concrete results.
