Momentus consultant helps a major Swedish municipality in the redesign of its organization for people with disabilities. An organization development program, within a major Swedish municipality, set new conditions for the cost reduction and quality of services for the operation that cares for people with disabilities. In order to achieve its objectives, a Momentus consultant helped the organization with this radical re-organizational work. The work included set up of a dedicated project team and planning, which included identification of the current procedures for handicap care within the municipality, and identification of its shortcomings.
Given the directives for cost, efficiency and quality of services, a new model for care of people with disabilities was formulated, together with a new procedure for the cost and quality management of these operations.
The formulated model for the desired operation was used as a tool for explicit and unambiguous communication. Also, the new management model for handicap care included relevant quality indicators, operational objectives, and policies to direct the operations.
